Silly Poem

I asked for a poem, and there one was,
Right in the middle of my head.
A minute ago my head was empty.
Now it’s full instead.

I saved it carefully on my computer
In a folder all its own.
But search as I may, I cannot find it.
Silly poem, come on home.

How would you know this wayward poem
If you met it on the street?
Four beats per line, or sometimes three,
No shoes, but lots of feet.

Hearts and minds get crowded at times,
And what could be any sweeter,
Than to empty your mind with a little rhyme
Paired with a little meter?

If you find this wandering poem
Silly, but mine own.
Please, oh please, give it a nudge
And send it on back home.
